Here's the deal. I'm willing to share my MP3s ripped with EAC and encoded with LAME, if you're willing to share yours. You're not just going to share with me but with everyone who'll join.
Here's what you need to do. Steps 2 and 3 are optional.
1. Rip 3 CDs with EAC that is set up using this guide. You can use -V3 to -V0.
2. Rip at least 30 seconds of track 1 from each CD to FLAC. Use EAC > Action > Copy Range. Then move the 2nd slider to the left until the range is around 30 seconds.
3. Take photos of each physical CD in front of your computer screen displaying this website.
4. Zip the MP3s with the EAC log. Include the photo and FLAC if you did steps 2 and 3. Have 1 zip per CD.
5. Upload the zips to file hosting website like Rapidshare or Megaupload. I recommend Filefactory and Zshare.
6. Send an email to ledrips@gmail.com with the subject "secure share". The body of the email should have the link, the EAC log and a yes or no to steps 2 and 3.
If your links are good, I'll email you back a password to all my shared rips. I will then reupload your rips, now with passwords, to share with everyone else.
Why steps 2 and 3? By analyzing the FLAC with fooCDtect, you can tell if the FLAC was sourced from the original or an MP3. Step 3 ensures you have the original CD and not just a burned CDR.
Rips that will be posted will be labeled with 1 star if it only has an EAC log, 2 stars if it has a FLAC or photo and 3 stars if it has the log, FLAC and photo.
Sounds good? Here's a 1-star rip without a password to show my good faith. Fatboy Slim - Why Try Harder / The Greatest Hits
